Product Development

Move ideas from problem definition through CAD, prototyping, testing and a pathway to manufacture.

Problems we solve

Where we add value

Concept

The idea is clear but requirements are not

Translate the concept into functional, physical, regulatory and manufacturing requirements.

Prototype

You need something tangible to test

Use CAD, rapid prototyping and iterative testing to reduce uncertainty early.

Production

A prototype exists but is not ready to manufacture

Improve repeatability, documentation, materials and supplier handover.

Capability

What we do

  • Product discovery and requirements
  • Industrial and mechanical concept design
  • CAD and 3D modelling
  • Rapid prototyping
  • 3D printing
  • Design for manufacture
  • Fixtures and enclosures
  • Small-batch production
  • Testing and iteration
  • Supplier and manufacturing handover

Outcomes

What good looks like

Validation

Critical assumptions tested before larger investment.

Design maturity

A clearer, documented design that can be reproduced and improved.

Production readiness

A defined path from prototype toward supplier or manufacturing handover.

Control 21 delivery model

Discover → Diagnose → Design → Deliver → Operate → Optimise

01

Discover

Clarify the problem, desired outcomes, stakeholders and constraints.

02

Diagnose

Assess current capability, evidence, risks, dependencies and opportunities.

03

Design

Define the target state, roadmap, governance and commercial approach.

04

Deliver

Implement the agreed change, technology or operating capability.

05

Operate

Support, monitor and manage the solution where ongoing operation adds value.

06

Optimise

Measure performance, realise benefits and continuously improve.

Representative engagement patterns

How the capability can be applied

Control 21 project

Cable Identification System

A bespoke product-development example centred on improving cable identification, installation and maintainability.

Control 21 project

Orthodontic Bracket Design

A precision product-development example involving geometry, prototyping and iterative design considerations.

Example

Custom enclosure or fixture

Develop a purpose-built component from requirements through CAD and physical prototype.

Examples are illustrative engagement patterns and are not presented as client testimonials or claims.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you manufacture at scale?

Control 21 can develop prototypes and small-batch solutions and can prepare designs for handover to manufacturing partners where scale is required.

Do you work from sketches?

Yes. Early-stage concepts can be turned into requirements and progressively refined.

Can you help protect intellectual property?

Project information can be handled confidentially, but formal IP and patent advice should be obtained from appropriately qualified advisers.

Next step

What should your organisation do next?

Describe the problem to AVA or speak directly with Control 21 about a scoped engagement.
